Our 2024 winner infuses bold, beefy flavor into dishes that balance classic techniques with his unique brand of pit mastery. He’s Antonio Tapia, better known as @bkyardeats on social media. Antonio’s long list of masterworks span regions and flavor themes, including cilantro-lime steak sopes with achiote, steak tomatillo tacos, and brisket-stuffed Texas Twinkies.

Chris Bentley is known as @bentley.bbq on social media, but his reputation is also built on hundreds of next-level dishes, including ribeye nachos, hickory-smoked chuck short ribs, prime rib sliders, and flank steak pinwheels. He’s also known for his catchphrases, like “so good!”

Our 2022 1855 Ambassador of the Year, Michelle Derks, goes by @grill_full_of_happiness on social media. Her distinctive and mouth-watering dishes—like reverse seared ribeyes with spicy chimichurri, smoked tri-tip queso, and ribeye tacos with corn salsa—won her the title.
